About Me

I am a teacher, pianist, clarinetist, and singer.

I grew up in Dhaka, Bangladesh, where I went to the American International School. I completed my BA in International Relations with French in 2009 (University of Westminster, London) and my MSc in Globalisation and Development in 2010 (School of Oriental and African Studies, London). I moved to Delhi in November 2011, and have been teaching here ever since!

I first started teaching at the age of 15, and quickly discovered that I had a passion for it. Several years later, I still feel the same way. Truly, nothing compares to the feeling of seeing a student grow from having no former training in music to creating beautiful melodies that ring through the instrument.

My personal music journey began in 1997, at the age of 9, when I started playing the piano. Over the years, I also learned the violin and the clarinet and sang in a choir. While in school I participated in several music festivals; played clarinet in the AMIS International Honor Band, Turkey in Middle School; and sang in the AMIS International Honor Choir, Germany and Festival of Choirs in Oman in high school. I currently remain active in performing as a member of Community Orchestra and Delhi Chamber Choir.

Music Qualifications

In 2010, I earned my ATCL diploma in piano performance from the Trinity College of Music, London. I also passed the Grade 5 ABRSM Music Theory exam with a distinction when I was 14. I received my Masters in Instrumental Teaching from the University of Reading in September 2015. I continue to participate in yearly musical education training seminars and conferences.
